Why EMDR?

If you’ve ever felt like your current approaches aren’t enough to fully help your clients heal, you’re not alone. EMDR therapy has the power to change that. It doesn’t just help clients manage trauma—it allows them to truly heal, even from the most complex and painful trauma histories. That’s why I became an EMDRIA-approved trainer, to help clinicians like you gain the skills, knowledge, and confidence to facilitate real, lasting change for your clients.

What You’ll Learn in EMDR Basic Training

Over five days, you’ll dive into the core principles of EMDR therapy, starting with its history and the Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) model, which explains how the brain can heal from traumatic experiences. You’ll explore the 8 Phases of EMDR therapy, learning everything from gathering a client’s history to helping them process painful memories and achieve relief.

We’ll cover essential techniques like bilateral stimulation, working through tough cases, and addressing trauma in special populations—such as children, survivors of sexual abuse, and clients with complex PTSD. You’ll walk away with practical tools that go beyond symptom management, giving you the ability to help clients heal in profound ways.

Hands-On Guidance and Support

This is a deeply immersive, hands-on training. You’ll get real experience practicing EMDR techniques, backed by group discussions and personalized feedback. We want to make sure you leave fully prepared to use EMDR in your practice, which is why you’ll also complete 10 consultation hours with one of our trusted consultants after the training.

Special Resources for Child Therapists

If you work with children or adolescents, you’re in luck! Upon completing the training and consultation hours, you’ll get free access to my 7-hour course, “8 Phases of EMDR with Children and Adolescents: Integrating Play Therapy Techniques.” It’s normally $397, but it’s free for one year for our training participants, giving you extra tools to help younger clients.
