Feeling Overwhelmed? You’re Not Alone. *

Life is full of challenges, and at times, those challenges can feel insurmountable. You might find yourself caught in cycles of anxiety, depression, or emotional pain, unsure how to break free. Relationships may feel strained, your sense of purpose unclear, and the things that once brought you joy may now feel distant.

Trauma, stress, and disconnection can make it feel like you’re walking through life with a heavy weight on your shoulders. It’s not uncommon to feel stuck, but it doesn’t have to stay this way.

I know how hard it can be to take that first step and ask for help. Reaching out is an act of courage, and it’s the first step toward reclaiming your life. My goal is to offer you a safe, supportive environment where healing and growth are not only possible but achievable. Together, we’ll work to process the pain, reconnect with your strengths, and help you find clarity, connection, and peace.

Why Choose Counseling in Brevard?

Proven Expertise
I bring years of experience and advanced training to my practice, ensuring that you receive the highest standard of care. I’m certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, a highly effective approach for addressing trauma, anxiety, and depression. For couples, I utilize the Gottman Method, with Level 3 training that focuses on rebuilding trust, improving communication, and deepening connection. As a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor™, I specialize in using creative and expressive therapies like play and Sandtray to help individuals of all ages process emotions in a way that feels safe and natural.

A Comprehensive Approach
Healing is not one-size-fits-all. That’s why I take a nervous system-informed approach, integrating evidence-based modalities with expressive therapies like art, play, movement, and nature-based interventions. Whether we’re working through past trauma, strengthening relationships, or addressing day-to-day stressors, I tailor every session to meet your unique needs. This comprehensive approach promotes healing at a deep, foundational level, addressing not just the symptoms but the root causes of your struggles.

Tailored to You
Your therapy should work for you—not the other way around. I offer flexibility in how we approach your healing journey. Choose from in-person sessions at my welcoming Brevard office, convenient online therapy, or intensive sessions designed for accelerated breakthroughs. These intensives—ranging from 3-hour sessions to multi-day formats—allow us to go deeper, faster, so you can see meaningful progress in less time.

Imagine Your Life Without the Weight of Pain

What would your life look like if the heaviness you’re feeling was lifted? Imagine waking up with a sense of ease instead of dread, feeling present in your relationships, and finding joy in the things you love again.

Therapy isn’t just about managing symptoms—it’s about transformation. By addressing the root causes of your struggles, we can break the cycles of pain and create lasting change. You don’t have to live in survival mode. Together, we can help you build a life that feels aligned with who you truly are

Therapy Services I Offer

Trauma Therapy with EMDR
Trauma can leave an imprint on your mind and body, keeping you stuck in patterns of fear, anxiety, and sadness. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a highly effective therapy that helps you process unresolved trauma and rewire your brain for resilience. Whether you’re dealing with childhood trauma, grief, or the lingering effects of a difficult experience, EMDR offers a path to healing by addressing the pain at its core. Many clients find that EMDR brings relief when other methods haven’t worked, offering a sense of freedom they didn’t think was possible.

Couples Counseling with Gottman Method
Relationships are the cornerstone of our lives, but even the strongest partnerships face challenges. Using the Gottman Method, I help couples navigate the complexities of trust, communication, and connection. Whether you’re working through a crisis or simply want to deepen your relationship, couples counseling provides tools and insights to strengthen your bond. Through structured exercises and compassionate guidance, we’ll work together to rebuild trust, enhance understanding, and create a relationship that feels secure and fulfilling.

Play and Sandtray Therapies
Play isn’t just for kids—it’s a powerful way to process emotions and navigate life’s challenges. Through play therapy, children can explore their feelings in a way that feels natural and safe. Adults, too, can benefit from creative therapies like Sandtray, which allow us to access deeper parts of the mind that are often hard to reach with words alone. These approaches are especially helpful for processing trauma, anxiety, and grief, offering a gentle yet profound path to healing.

Expressive and Nature-Based Therapies
Sometimes, words aren’t enough to capture what we’re feeling. Expressive therapies incorporating materials such as paints, clay, and other mediums coupled with movement give you new ways to explore and express your emotions. Nature-based therapy takes this a step further, using the grounding and restorative qualities of the natural world to promote healing. Whether it’s through mindful walks, creative projects, or other experiential techniques, these therapies can help you reconnect with yourself and find strength in new and unexpected places.

Nervous System-Informed Therapy
Your nervous system plays a crucial role in how you experience stress, anxiety, and safety. When it’s out of balance, it can feel like you’re stuck in a constant state of fight, flight, or freeze. Nervous system-informed therapy focuses on regulation—helping your body find a sense of calm and balance. By addressing the nervous system’s role in your emotions and behaviors, we create a foundation for resilience and long-term growth.

  • When It Feels Too Much

Feeling overwhelmed can be like holding an overfilled cup—everything feels messy, unmanageable, and more than you can handle. Anxiety, depression, or unhelpful patterns can spill over into your ability to focus, connect with loved ones, or find joy. Sometimes, it leads to using substances or behaviors that only add to the overflow.

Life doesn’t have to stay this way. My intensive therapy sessions provide a focused space to help you pour out what’s overwhelming and address unresolved trauma, childhood wounds, or disconnection. Together, we’ll create room for healing, resilience, and clarity, helping you move forward with strength and balance.

  • Mending After Trauma

Trauma, especially early in life, can leave your nervous system stuck in survival mode, making you feel broken or disconnected. Whether it feels like everything is too much (hyperarousal) or like you’re numb and detached (hypoarousal), it doesn’t have to stay this way.

Think of the Japanese art of Kintsugi, where broken pottery is repaired with gold, transforming the cracks into something beautiful and unique. Similarly, your brain is capable of remarkable healing. Through neuroplasticity and the right therapeutic approach, those painful cracks can be mended, creating newfound resilience, connection, and strength.

Therapy can help turn what feels broken into the foundation of your growth and purpose. Healing is possible—your story can become one of hope and transformation.

  • Deep, Lasting Healing

The nervous system thrives on safety—it’s the foundation for forming new neural connections that help the brain function more effectively. Through approaches like EMDR, these changes can be seen in brain scans, showing remarkable transformation before and after therapy. Intensive sessions offer the focused time and space needed to foster this healing process, allowing the brain to rewire and build resilience.

That’s why I offer intensive therapy sessions—a customized, nervous system-informed approach to help you dive deeper and move forward faster. This immersive work not only promotes healing but also strengthens your ability to handle life’s challenges with confidence and ease. Together, we’ll create the momentum for lasting growth, clarity, and transformation, tailored to fit your busy life and unique needs.

Intensive Therapy: Fast-Track Your Healing

Traditional weekly therapy can be effective, but sometimes you need more to create the change you’re seeking. Intensive therapy offers a unique opportunity to dive deep into your healing process over a condensed timeframe, allowing for transformative breakthroughs that might take months in a traditional format.

Whether you’re looking for individual support, couples counseling, or family therapy, intensive sessions are tailored to your specific goals. We’ll focus on your needs without the distractions of daily life, providing a focused and immersive experience for faster, more impactful results.

One of the unique aspects of my intensive therapy offerings is flexibility in where we meet. Many people find that healing happens more naturally in environments where they feel most at ease. For some, this may mean meeting in my Brevard office, while others prefer the tranquility and grounding energy of nature. We can hold sessions outdoors, in parks, or on the beach, taking advantage of the deep healing opportunities that nature provides.

If you’re more comfortable in the privacy of your home or another location that holds significance for you, we can meet there as well. Together, we’ll create a setting that fosters safety, connection, and the best possible outcomes for your journey.

I’m licensed to practice in Florida, so all sessions for clients within the United States must take place here. If you’re overseas, we can also explore options for intensive therapy to support your healing. No matter where we meet, my commitment is to provide a space where transformation feels not just possible but inevitable.

Let’s work together to help you feel lighter, more connected, and ready to move forward with clarity and strength.

Clear Costs, Flexible Care, and a Focus on Your Healing

At Counseling in Brevard, I provide personalized, effective care to support your healing journey. My self-pay model allows us to customize your treatment without being constrained by insurance requirements, ensuring that your needs remain the priority.

The fee for therapy is $175 per hour, with payment due at the time of service. For those with insurance, I am considered an out-of-network provider. If you wish to pursue reimbursement, I can provide a superbill—a detailed invoice for you to submit to your insurance. However, reimbursement is dependent on your plan, and many insurance companies require a diagnosis. I provide diagnoses only when they meet clinical criteria and are appropriate for your care.

This approach ensures we can focus on creating a flexible, tailored treatment plan that prioritizes your healing and growth. If you have any questions or would like to learn more, I’m here to help.

Who I Work With

I work with people of all ages—children, teens, adults, families, and even business teams. Whether it’s addressing trauma, improving relationships, or rediscovering joy, these intensives are designed to meet your unique needs.

I customize each intensive session based on your circumstances and goals. Whether we’re working in my office, outdoors in nature, or online, we’ll create a plan that feels right for you.

Meet Jackie Flynn, EdS, LMHC-S, RPT-S™

Hi there, I’m Jackie, and my greatest passion is helping people discover the freedom and transformation therapy can offer. With extensive training as a certified EMDR therapist, EMDRIA-approved consultant and trainer, and Registered Play Therapist Supervisor™, I’ve had the privilege of supporting individuals, couples, families, and groups through deeply transformative work.

What fuels my love for this work is seeing people reclaim their lives. Many clients have shared that therapy has helped them sleep better, feel more connected to themselves and others, and experience love—both giving and receiving—in ways they never thought possible. They’ve found renewed focus, improved functioning, and the courage to face challenges they’ve avoided for years. Some have even been able to reduce or stop medications they’d been dependent on for a long time.

Every journey is unique, and while results vary, the transformative potential of therapy is undeniable. If you’re ready to explore what’s possible, I’d be honored to support you on this life-changing path. Together, we’ll work toward the healing, growth, and freedom you deserve.
